Blue Light Aware

As a former police officer specialising in traffic law enforcement I know very well the problems of driving or riding a vehicle which is on an emergency call.  The actions of the drivers of vehicles close to the blue light user can literally be a matter of life or death.

For that reason I am particularly proud of the latest initiative funded by the GEM Road Safety Charity.  The new Blue Light Aware video will hopefully outline to motorists what they should and should not do when a vehicle on a blue light run is approaching.  Whether that vehicle is a police car, fire appliance, ambulance or any other emergency vehicle it is vital that they are given the priority they need in a safe and effective way.  The video outlines clearly how this can be achieved.
